Downy Woodpecker - Kelly

This Downy Woodpecker has managed to get himself seated on the feeder. I guess it beats hanging on! The trees and flowers may be dormant and brown - but there is still a ton of life hustling and bustling in winter.

Bleeding Hearts - Kelly

Our bleeding hearts seem to double in size overnight, Rocky, our cat enjoys hiding under them while tracking moles and chipmunks within our rock walls.

It's the Little Things - Kelly

We have at least seven of these little guys that fight all day, every day for the feeders we hang on our red maple tree in the backyard. They've become very used to us watching them over the years that the ongoing battle continues around our heads. There have been many instances where a few have flown one foot in front of my face and just hovered there staring. You know, they always say it's the little things that make you appreciate life. Hummingbirds is one of them.
